Marie Krøyer

March 9 – August 25 2024

Marie Krøyer (1867 – 1940) was noted in Scandinavia during her lifetime for her dramatic personal life with Norwegian-Danish painter P.S. Krøyer and Swedish composer Hugo Alfvén, yet the full extent of her own artistic work is not widely known today. Throughout the coming spring and summer we will focus new attention on the artist Marie Krøyer in her own right in a major exhibition showing the breadth of her compelling work as a painter as well as designer of furniture, textiles and interiors. The presentation will also illuminate new aspects of her international sources of inspiration and her wider networks.

The exhibition has been created in collaboration with the Art Museums of Skagen and the Hirschsprung Collection.
