The Prince’s Well-known and Unknown Treasures – Art and Fine Art Objects from the Waldemarsudde Collections

April 22, 2023 – March 17, 2024

A varied, exciting and extensive presentation that spans the entire Mansion, focusing on seldom shown high-quality fine art objects, as well as favorite paintings from the Collections by Prince Eugen and other artists. Alongside fine art objects in glass, stoneware, silver, porcelain, marble and bronze, furniture, paintings, drawings and sculptures will also be on show.

In one part of the exhibition, we take an in-depth look at Prince Eugen as a designer of the Waldemarsudde flowerpot, as well as of chairs and jewelry, and also present his acquisitions of furniture and fine art objects for his beautiful home at Waldemarsudde. In another part of the exhibition, the Prince is reinstated in his former studio, in a pleasure-filled presentation of paintings and sketches for easel paintings as well as for the monumental work Staden vid vattnet (The City by the Water) in the Stockholm City Hall. On show on the top floor, you will also find a selection of the Prince’s significant collection of paintings by Swedish, other Scandinavian and French artists.
